Rainbow Believing
Rainbow Believing was born from the desire to translate into paint the feeling one experiences in front of a rainbow—a presence that reveals light after the storm and becomes a metaphor for possibility and renewal.
In a world marked by conflict and tension, the artist affirms through colour a conscious act of trust, expressing a longing for greater joy, freedom, and peace: the rainbow is not depicted, but internalised as an act of hope, built shape by shape, colour by colour.
Within the Circles of Joy series, the composition is based on the precise intersection of circles, an archetypal form and symbol of cyclicality. Painted freehand with meticulous precision, a hallmark of Laura Rota’s practice, the flat, pure colours sit side by side without blending, creating new chromatic thresholds and perceptual vibrations. The rainbow is not illustrated: it is evoked as possibility. Gold, a constant in the artist’s work, functions as a reflection of inner light—not ornament, but a charge of energy.
