Laura Rota, artist statement
My work can be described as both deep and full of lightness—like music that is at times intimate and reflective, and at other times lively and full of energy.
Art has been with me since I was a child, thanks to a painter grandfather, a collector father and winter afternoons spent immersed in the files of The Masters of Color, among ancient and modern paintings.
In the 1980's I discovered abstract art and its power in communicating emotions without resorting to images: since then I have loved the idea of making people perceive without explaining.
My abstract-geometric language stems from my passion for the balance between form and color. The circle is at the center of my work: pure, harmonic form, charged with positive meanings.
I paint by hand, without masking, with flat, uniform backgrounds, because I believe that the hand gesture preserves authenticity even in abstraction. Although geometric, my paintings arise from visual memories related to nature, the art that formed me and social issues that I wish to support.
The intent is to create works that bring well-being, color and harmony, accompanying thought toward calm, energy and freedom.

I love all seasons, but my dream is traveling the world in search of an endless spring.
Living Art. Roots and Visions
Chapter 1
What Art
Means to Me
Art is an ancient, necessary, deeply human need. The artist observes, absorbs, and transforms. They speak through images, sounds, words, or gestures, bringing beauty, energy, strength, restlessness, and peace. Artists breaks patterns, opens up new spaces. They invite us to look elsewhere—and within. Build bridges between what we feel and what we don’t yet know we feel.
Since the beginning, art has told the soul of the world.
And it keeps doing so, every day, with fresh eyes.
Chapter 2
Why I chose to be an artist
Out of the need to communicate through the silent strength of images.
My Circles of Joy project is my voice.
It speaks of beauty, joy, emotions, and values.
I don’t seek aesthetics for its own sake, but I believe that carefully chosen shapes and colors can carry deep meaning.
In a world that measures worth by numbers and roles,
I choose to cultivate creativity.
Because art can open space
for another way of living.
Chapter 3
What I’m most passionate about.
The moment when thought turns into form and color.
When I create, I seek balance between intuition, geometry, color perception, and concepts.
Abstract art is my language: free from recognizable figures,
it speaks directly to the viewer’s sensitivity, leaving room for personal thoughts, emotions, and interpretations.
My greatest motivation?
Each painting is unique — a constant discovery, even for me.
Chapter 4
Abstract art is my language.
I deeply love abstract art.
It’s the form of expression that best reflects my thoughts and feelings.
Free from recognizable figures, abstract art leaves room for personal interpretation and evolves over time with the viewer.
My project, Circles of Joy, is an invitation to look beyond and imagine, guided by the emotions of color.
Feel free to follow and share this with someone who might appreciate it too.
Chapter 5
Art is my
nourishment.
I was lucky to grow up in a family that valued art — from music to painting.
I’ve deepened my sense of listening and observation: classical music with my father, my grandfather’s passion for photography and painting…
I appreciate all forms of art, but the one that moves me the most is the non-figurative art.
I love the optical geometries of Vasarely, the chromatic studies of Albers, the spirituality of Rothko, the dynamism of Balla, the pure colors of pop art, the distortions of Grignani… just to name a few of the masters who deeply influenced me.
I continue to nourish myself with experiences, emotions, and memories — and I translate them into my project Circles of Joy. A journey born almost by instinct, becoming more and more conscious. A research in constant expansion.
Is there an artist, a work, or an art movement that left a mark on you?
I’d love to read about your experience!
Chapter 6
Why choose
my art?
It's more than just a painting.
It's a place where the mind can relax and the eye can find balance.
Beyond aesthetics.
An invitation to look beyond what is seen toward something personal and ever-evolving.
Reliability and clarity.
Well-crafted pieces with clear timing and value at a fair, accessible price.
Art that grows living with it.
My works reflect change. They evolve with those who observe them. They spark reflection — they're living art.
Why me?
Because I don't promise the impossible. I promise presence, vision, and true emotion each time.
What do you look for in art?

Chapter 7
5 strengths. And 2 challenges.
STR. 1 - A wide horizon
Each work is a synthesis: personal, symbolic, concrete. A way of returning what I receive.
STR. 2 - Emotional accessibility. I enjoy dialogue. For me, art is also a way of being present.
STR. 3 - Transformed knowledge. My communication experience flows into my painting. Now it is freer, more personal and more sincere.
STR. 4 - Reliability
I show up. I respect deadlines & reply promptly. Consistency is part of my creative process.
STR. 5 - Absolute precision
Each shape is painted with brushes — no tape, no masks. Result of complete focus.
CHAL. 1 - I’m emerging, but I'm not young. At times, that closes doors. However, I consciously chose art. My voice is clear, grounded and liberated.
CHAL. 2 - I’m learning to leave space for the unexpected.
I begin with deep reflection and accept that some things go beyond geometry. They are simply true.
Chapter 8
What remains after choosing a work of art?
I have collected some real words.
Those of those who have welcomed my work into their spaces, into their lives.
Some speak of silence and meditation.
Those who recognise precision, harmony, living energy.
Who feels a work as part of home, of family.
My art does not want to be explained.
It wants to arrive, simply.
Beyond ages, beyond cultures.
To create connection.
