Freedom

Inspired by Freedom Flag's colors

Freedom

For a few months, I've had the idea of painting a large canvas, one that not only captivates with its pleasing form and colors but also encapsulates a strong message.
The opportunity arose with an invitation to exhibit at The Lab space of FLA for MuseoCity 2024, themed 'Worlds in Milan.'
I thought of conveying a message of peace, particularly timely amidst the prevalent news of racial and gender discrimination and ongoing conflicts.
How could I embed this message within my artwork? I decided to paint it using the colors of the rainbow flag, a symbol of peace and the freedom to be oneself.
Researching its origins in San Francisco in 1978, I discovered it originally comprised 8 colors, not 6 like the current version. Coincidentally, my paintings also feature 8 colors plus gold.

In the painting "FREEDOM," the beauty of the rainbow blends with the harmony of peace, enveloping viewers with its powerful life force and radiating positive energy that fills the surrounding space.
